Hindu Temple Where Muslim Deity is Worshipped!

Around 40 kms away from Gujarat’s capital Ahmadabad, there exists a hamlet named Jhoolasan. The hamlet is well known to get quite a unusual temple here – the Dola Mata Mandir. This among its type temple is unusual because here a Muslim woman is worshipped as a goddess by Hindus.

Exactly why is a Muslim girl worshipped here as a goddess?
In this temple, a girl named Dola is worshipped. It is known that around 250 years past, this village was assaulted by several goons. To shield locals of the hamlet, Dola fought bravely using the goons until she was killed by them. Folks say that after her departure, Dola body become a blossom. To honour her bravery and also to pay regard to her, the locals of the village constructed a temple where Dola had breadth her last and started to worship her like a goddess.

Idol-less Temple
The Dola Mata Mandir is an enormous one and really quite lovely. Approximately 4 crores were spent with this temple. But there isn’t even one idol here. There is just a rock covered using a coloured material here. This covered rock is belived to be Dola Mata and is worshipped.

Ideal time to go – January to June

The best way to reach – Jhoolasan is 40 kms from Ahmadabad. You can quickly reach Ahmadabad through train, bus or plane. After this, public transport or your own taxi may be reserved by tourists in accordance with their convenience.
