‘Drone’ technology for Indian Railways
Indian Railway is truly spreading its hands currently to provide customer satisfaction by solving problems of passengers on trains and using live tweets to be in contact with the outer world. Indian Railways has confirmed the use of ‘Drone’ technology to reach difficult areas.
An unmanned vehicle or in simple terms a Robot, a ‘Drone’ is capable of flying from a range of 2 kms to 200 kms depending on the advanced system present inside the ‘Drone’. It has a camera fitted on the body, which is monitored from the ground. Drones are to be employed in the Indian railways for the inspection of the ongoing work of the Dedicated Freight Corridor or DFC projects under the aerial survey.
Indian Railways also considers that ‘Drone’ would prove to be helpful during train accidents for monitoring the situation especially at places, which are inaccessible.
