Underwater UFO – “Glowing” Sea Turtle Seen Near Solomon Islands (VIDEO)

Till today, biofluorescence discovery is considered a pre-mature status because the availability of the same in aquatic organisms such as corals, jelly fish, sharks and others, which were ascertained in last 10 years. Researchers have been successful in discovering a new species showing biofluorescent quality, which is in a turtle. Initially, researches thought the new species as an underwater UFO as seen on cam, but with the duration of filming, they concluded the presence of a glowing turtle and was considered the first biofluorescent reptile that could be ever recorded according to the report of National Geographic.

It was actually an endangered species of turtle flashing neon colors in green and red in the dark, a spaceship looking species, a Hawksbill sea turtle, was the comment by marine biologists in Solomon Islands. The National Geographic report further added that while biologists David Grubber of City University, New York was continuing the dive under water to take pictures of corals and other biofluorescence species, suddenly the bright looking spaceship in green and red appeared in the camera frame out of nowhere.

The famous biologist comments that biofluorescent marine animals are repeatedly found to display only one color either green or red, whereas the hawksbill turtle exhibits radiant stripes of two colors, which has opened new horizons for discussions on the special characteristics of the glowing turtle. However, scientists feel that there are difficulties in collecting additional information on glowing turtles because very few of them are alive and these endangered species are being protected for further study. Alexander Gaos, Director of the Eastern Pacific Hawksbill Initiative expressed that he was also studying these turtles enthusiastically, though not being a member of the team that found glowing turtles in Solomon Islands.

There is a marked difference between biofluorescence and bioluminescence, which is explained in a report in the Newsweek. Biofluorescence is about an activity when the material as the shell of the turtle absorbs light at a given wavelength and emits in a different wavelength altogether, which makes it appear glowing. On the other hand, bioluminescence is a quality of a species that helps generate its own light rays.
