Father Sells Tea in The Court Area & the Daughter Is the Judge in the Same Court
Surinder Kumar, a tea seller has a tea shop in the court area of the sub-divisional magistrate in Nakobar in Jallandhar District in Punjab. The tea shop is right across the road of the court building. Surinder Kumar serves tea since a long time to all the people that come to the court.
The tea shop owner never dreamt that one day his 23 years old daughter Shruti would walk in through the corridors of the same court as a respectable judge , which she ultimately became by passing the Punjab Civil Services (Judicial ) examination in the very first try. She also completed the one yea training course at the academy to be qualified as a judge capable of articulating judgments to offer justice to the needy.
Shruti expressed her intense desire to become an active member of the judiciary by choosing the legal profession and wanted to become a judge. She appeared at the competitive examination and made her father proud by achieving the first position in the SC category. She achieved an extremely praiseworthy career when she graduated from Guru Nanak University and joined the law stream at the Punjab University, Patiala.
She represents the modern women and wants to emphasize the top position for women in every sphere of life by citing examples of high grade results in competitive examinations in the entire nation. She further adds and feels proud of her friend Harpeet kaur Sidhu, who also qualified in the judicial examination, but being the daughter of a simple government servant such as police inspector. She has several examples of women making great progress in careers especially in competitive examinations in India.
