Recipe for Lemon Body Scrub
Steam-distilled lemon essential oil is required for this preparation since it is free of furanocoumarins, which might induce sun sensitivity. Furanocoumarins help to increase UV light absorption, which is beneficial to lemons but not to skin. They’re found in cold-pressed lemon essential oil, which can cause skin to absorb too much UV rays and burn if applied 12 to 48 hours before going out in the sun.
Ingredients-
Take 1 cup sugar 1/3 to 1/2 cup carrier oil Coconut oil and honey (optional) 30 droplets of lemon essential oil (steam distilled)
How to make It-
Stir in 1/3 cup carrier oil with lemon essential oils and if you’re using coconut oil, start by melting it over low heat. Coconut oil is recommended for better results.
Now, add honey (if you are using it) to your scrub and whisk it in with the carrier oil.
Fill a bowl with cup of sugar, then pour the oil mixture over it. Check the texture after mixing with a fork until everything is well incorporated. Add a bit more carrier oil if it’s too crumbly, and a little more sugar if it’s too runny.
That’s it fill a clean, sealed jar halfway with your homemade body scrub.
How to apply-
Scoop 2-4 tablespoons from your jar using a spoon. The ingredients will remain for months or longer if stored properly, which is why you don’t want to add water or germs to the jar.
In your palms, place the scrub. Apply in a circular motion over your entire body, concentrating on rough places like elbows, knees, and heels, until the majority of the crystals disintegrate. Because this scrub can make the shower slippery, use additional caution while using it on your feet. Personally, I would only use my feet in the bath. Also, always use body scrub on healthy skin; avoid sensitive or swollen regions.
After rinsing with warm water, pat the skin dry. Apply a moisturiser after that. Once a week is recommended, while some skin types may benefit from more frequent treatments (2-3 times per week).

This Peppermint Sugar Scrub tastes as good as it looks! If you want to make a quick homemade gift, double or triple the recipe. Making this DIY dish in bulk is simple and economical. This recipe makes a great “wake up scrub” because it’s both refreshing and invigorating.

Several drops of peppermint essential oil should be added to the mixture.
Make two equal amounts of your sugar scrub mixture.

To get a “candy cane” look, alternate pink and white layers of colored sugar in a mason jar. To condense the sugar between layers, press it down with a spoon.

If no essential oil is used, the shelf life is over a year if it is scooped out with a clean spoon to avoid introducing water and bacteria into the container. If essential oils are used, I suggest utilising it within 3-6 months to avoid the oils oxidising.
