Did you know that eating walnut can increase your sperm count?

All guys out there, you will need to consume walnuts regular now. Researchers say the easy solution to enhance male fertility may be gobbling some of walnuts.

“The first research we ran regarding walnuts and male fertility found progress in sperm parameters after adding walnuts to the dietary plan , and it has set the stage for people to help investigate the impacts of walnuts on male fertility and reproductive health,” Professor Wendie Robbins, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Nursing.

Infertility is described as a “disorder of the reproductive system” and results in impairment. Remarking on the research in the year 2012 by a team headed by her, Robbins said that 75 grams of walnuts have daily enhanced sperm energy, motility, and morphology (normal forms) in several healthy young men between 21-35 years old. This research indicates that walnuts supply vital nutrients which may be crucial in male reproductive wellness.

Walnuts are the only nut which are a great supply of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) – the plant-based omega-3 fatty acid. The research also reported higher quantities of ALA supplied by walnuts correlated with less regular aneuploidy or unusual cell sperm chromosome numbers which can lead to genetic abnormalities such as Down syndrome, she said.

Along with ALA, walnuts have high antioxidant content, as well as numerous micronutrients that Robbins believes may work together synergistically.

Food continues to be connected with human reproductive success but all the emphasis has been on the maternal diet and almost no focus was given to the paternal diet, Carol Berg Sloan, Nutrition Adviser using the California Walnut Commission said.
